They should not be bathed too frequently, because this may result in skin irritation or dull hair. It is recommended to bathe dogs once per month. When bathing, care must be taken that water does not get inside the ears, because it may result in festering. These dogs are easy to groom, and longhaired species should be groomed several times a week. They have large prominent eyes and may suffer from corneal dryness or eye injuries. Therefore, your place should be free of objects with sharp angles. These tiny dogs are not recommended for children under six years old.

These dogs came from a cross between the two breeds. This type of dogs is not recognized by AKC and other organizations and should not be bred for sale. The dogs look very much like their parents and range in color from white to jet-black. These creatures are very active and people-oriented; they require little daily exercise and make ideal lap dogs, like their ancestors. Such dogs can be both longhaired and shorthaired.
