Chihuahuas Puppies - General Information
Chihuahuas are the smallest dogs in the world. Many believe them to be toy dogs and use them mainly as pets and companions. These dogs are about 6-9 inches high at the withers. The weight of the animals ranges from 2-6 pounds.
Chihuahuas Puppies - Head
The head is cone-shaped and relatively big for a dog of such a small sizes. Ears are set apart and held at a 45-degree angle in relation to the perpendicular axis. The eyes are dark in color and round and set apart too.
Chihuahuas Puppies - Breed History
The breed is actually rather old and there have been ancient Toltec graves found by the archaeologists where there were small dog skeletons uncovered. These skeletons belonged to the breed of Chihuahuas. These dogs might have been the elements of ancient religious rites. Overall, there are several versions as far as the origin of the breed is concerned. Thus, the breed is supposed to be from Asia (China, Egypt etc.).
Chihuahuas Puppies - Temperament
Chihuahuas may be rather annoying to some and be rather difficult to cope with their behavior. The socialization needs a start from the earliest age, as these dogs can be rather ill behaved and irritating. Chihuahuas may show aggression if anyone teases them. Children need instruction regarding how to treat these small dogs as these dogs may damage easily.
These very agile and active animals are quite satisfied indoors. They are very playful and like to race from one corner of the apartment to another. It seems that, Chihuahuas being small creatures, think of themselves to be just as big as they are actually small.
